		<description>That really depends  on your Veeam backup settings, type of data, backup type.

For example - a text file can be compressed from 10Mbyte into 50kb easily. Updates to this text files will not result in a significant increase of the backups. On the other hand if you are trying to compress a video or an image file - you will not get even 1:2 compression ration and the resulting file may be just as big as the original size.

So to know the size of your backups for 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, etc we would need to know:

1) data/file type
2) storage type (some storage provides hardware compression which further reduces file size)
3) compression level setting
4) frequency of backups
5) type of backups


To backup standard server - you can reasonably expect 1:2 compression ration (with typical office and application files).

But then it starts to matter how often you backup and how long of a retention period you have.

I would say you need at least 2TB of storage for backups to keep a week of daily backups (1 reverse full and 1 incremental for each day). More storage space will give you longer retention period.</description>
